Sources
The line of dancing animals is adapted from an illumination in the14th-century Flemish “Romance of Alexander”. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Bodl. 264, fol. 11) As some of the clothing was unclear in the original, some extrapolation has been used. The alphabet is an adaptation of the Westminster Gothic alphabet.
