The angel is adapted from a French manuscript, ca. 1300. (Manchester, John Rylands Library, MS. fr. 1, fol. 82.) The lettering is Gothic Textura capitals adapted for modern use. ‘Bel canto’ is Italian for ‘beautiful singing’ or ‘beautiful song’.
Materials and Techniques
You can use any even weave fabric such as Aida cloth or linen. The threads are DMC floss. Stitching uses whole cross-stitches only.
