The alphabet is adapted from one in Niccolo Zoppino’s 1530 book, “Essemplario di lavori … .” The snail on the left is adapted from an illumination in an 11th-century French “Hours of the Virgin Mary”. Materials and Techniques
You can use any even weave fabric such as Aida cloth or linen. The threads are DMC floss. Only whole cross-stitches are used.
