The angel is adapted from a 15th-century Italian print. (Florence) Lettering is Gothic Textura capitals. ‘Dulcis’ is Latin for ‘sweet’. Materials and Techniques You can use any even weave fabric such as Aida cloth or linen. The threads are DMC floss. Stitching uses whole cross-stitches with straight stitches in black for the lute strings. All areas under the strings are filled with cross-stitches. Use the easily-visible symbols to guide your stitching here. NOTE: It is suggested that you experiment with the number of black threads to use for the lute strings. How they look on the pattern will depend on the size of fabric you are using and your own personal preference.
